Ute Stephan

Ute Stephan is Professor of Entrepreneurship at King’s College London, UK. She is interested in how individuals and societies can thrive through entrepreneurship. Her research focuses on social entrepreneurship, well-being, and health, how contexts shape entrepreneurship, and how entrepreneurship, in turn, can help to build more inclusive societies. Her research is published in leading journals and has won multiple international awards, including the 2025 JIBS Decade award. She is listed in the top 2% of scientists worldwide in Business & Management based on citations to her work. Ute is recognized as a Fellow of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and a 21st Century Entrepreneurship Research Fellow. She serves as associate editor at the Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and she is on the editorial boards for Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Journal of Business Venturing.
